Mages are meant to do super high damage and AoEs. So they should have the highest amount of damage per hit and spread out over the widest area. But they are weak when it comes to defense. Warriors are not meant to do a ton of damage, they are meant to be able to take a ton damage. And Rangers should have less damage than a Mage, but much faster rate of fire and higher chance of crits. This makes them better for damage over time VS bosses, while Mages are better for large groups of enemies. So they shouldn't be just Nerfing all the magic weapons so it's equal to the other classes.

Honestly Melee looks like the best set since its cool and very powerful thanks to things like Terrablade and Solar Staff (I think thats what its called) but mage is also really good if you know what to use.

all loadouts must use a fly item: wings, spectre boots, other...

I would take the Mage load out with only one difference... I would add wings and a mana flower with lots of mana potions in inventory. Also where is the Summoner class? It would go well with spooky armour!

Or for the Mage you can use: as your weapon use the razor pine as your armour use spectral as your accessories use wings of your choice(even the hover board) the mana flour thing and the magic cuffs, the other two are your choice so maybe the star vail and the sorcerer emblem

in 1.2.3.1 the spectre hood now gives a -40% magic damage!

Turtle armour is not good now there is beetle armour

I like the idea of using the emblems to almost negate the 40% damage nerf to just 3% reduced damage, makes the spectre armor more useful again.

See the thing about the vampire knives is that you can stand on a peice of hellstone with the cross and just go ham on the waves taking only 1 damage then healing it back!
