This is what my English textbook states on page 130 of “A writers reference” Written by Diana Hacker and I quote “hanged, hung: Hanged is the past-tense & past-participle form of the verb hang meaning, “to execute.” The prisoner was hanged at dawn. Hung is the past-tense and past-participle form of the verb Hang meaning “to fasten or suspend.” The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.

Wow good job 'addressing' this story. Use footage no one is stupid enough to think is the original, and then debunk that instead. I didn't believe the story at all before but after seeing the extent to which they avoided even using the correct footage (which I'm SURE they know is the one people were talking about) I'm not so sure anymore.

They used the remastered version which was tampered with.

Honestly, once you realize that it really is just a large bird spreading it's wings, it's kinda hard to visualize it as a "hanging" munchkin again.

I can't figure out how somebody could think that was a person hanging themself... I've always seen it as a bird, that's why when I saw something about it on a fansite I was entirely confused.

I have just watched the original footage from the 1980 vhs release and yes you can clearly see what appears to be a body, but I do not believe it was a munchkin that hanged himself, I believe its just a bit of set or scenery hanging down, the body is so visible its impossible that the cast and crew did not notice it, if they had they would have cut the scene and immediately rushed to the munchkins aid, its too far fetched to be what appears to be a genuine suicide

This is NOT the original footage, this is the REMASTERED footage which looks like a bird. The original looks like something swinging back and forth..the second one shown here is oddly covered by a strange bird looking thing

Omg, that's not even the right shot, this is the edited and altered shot, look at the original... It's definitely NOT a bird in the original, unaltered scene...

THE TREES IN THE BACKGROUND LOOK COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN THE VERSION OF THE HANGING MUNCHKIN.

well said! Exactly my point munchkin land was not shot for severely weeks after this scene. No munchkins would have been on set nor would there have been casting calls on set at the time this scene was shot.

Yep. A bird. NO! They are showing the remastered version. Trying to make people look nuts. Get the original version. It's obviously a bird in the remastered version.

Theyre looking at the edited version... theyre still trying to cover it up, the unedited version is clearly not a bird!

BS..damn I wish I still had the VHS. They added that stupid bird in the remastered version to hide what happened in the original. Curious if this could have affected the subconscious of all the children that saw the original.
