Ryan Gosling doesn’t get enough credit for this role, he nails it

He finds his purpose in this scene. He realizes he can do something about the things he is involved, even not being 'the chosen one'. Powerful message.

Memes aside, this is one of the best scenes in the entire movie.

That " You look like a good Joe " isn't even a nail to the coffin, that's a spit to the grave

I love this scene due to the way it deconstructs everything we’ve been led to believe, just like K. The one person pushing him to believe he is more than just a replicant, tellihn him he is special and giving him a real name is really just a program designed to be ‘everything you want to hear’, playing into his fantasy of being something greater. The scene even trivializes his name, it once meaning something to him, then becoming just the default name given to its owner. Truly good stuff

When he hears this and just goes ''Fuck it, my whole life was a lie, better make my death real'', that was a fantastic moment.

This movie is criminally underrated. Absolute masterpiece.

Whoever played After Dark in the background of this scene is an evil genius with great taste

I like when she calls him Joe, the lighting on his face slowly shifts to blue as if any happiness after seeing Joi again starts to drain out of him

I love the design in this scene. 0:22, when she says "I can fix that", the wave of light passes over behind his face, as does a single drop (tear) of blood fall from his neck, after sitting there for the entirety of the scene. We all notice the darkness he's shrouded in, being illuminated by her in the first place, but that smaller detail before the self-reflection and song build-up, discovery of purpose - if not a brief one - was really subtle.

Bladerunner aged like wine. The movie already warned us about the future. With AI girlfriend trend right now we already see the glimpse of dystopian future of bladerunner.

Loneliness is the easiest thing that can destroy a person.
