The hypnos fight is pretty clever actually, because you can see what Draedon means when he says 'it lacks synergy with my other creations'. Hypnos settles naturally at the bottom of the screen in its first phase, the position it likely would have filled had the exo-mech quartet been a quintet. It stays there until the player deals threatening damage, at which point it immediately breaks formation and starts moving far more erratically and with self preservation in mind, to the assumed detriment of the rest of its team.

I like the detail of Hypnos being at the bottom of the screen, it actually feels really natural (unlike its other patterns)
