Hi Maccagrabme , Interesting how the new machines tend to do everything for the user and have many features. I still prefer the earlier classics like yourself but trying to get them in near mint condition can be hard. I am convinced every single aspect of those keyboards had a inherent influence on the sound, the Faders, the wiring, the pots ' Everything. I would like to see a Yamaha CS 80 and also a New rebuilt Jupiter 6. Hope one day this Happens.

Duran's Rio arpegiator sequence was played by the Jupiter 8 not a Jupiter 4

I beg to differ. The Rio arp was a Jupiter 4. Nick Rhodes has said that he used the Jup 4 on that track SPECIFICALLY for that. He did tend, and still does toward a JP8. Its his favourite synth, but he has a huge collection of analogue synths, including the very JP4 he had from back then.

40 yrs of development and yet nothing in today's catalogue sounding anywhere near as inspiring as the earlier products. Surely they will see sense?
