Southern Homesteading Outdoors and Prepping
Description
We are just a small family who moved to a more rural environment. We maintain the connection to modern society, but we are interested in learning how to be more self sufficient by exploring the methods used from generations that were more self reliant through homesteading and farming. Very thankful to so many that post their own "how to" videos.

Oil is coming from the air filter from blow back. These engines are notorious for this.

I ordered a DuraMax 15000 and just gotten it oiled up. My house is fully electric and I wanted to be able to run mostly everything with my 50 amp grid plug in. I think I will be alright with this one. I also rigged up a butane wall heater hanging unit for emergency back-up heating. There’s a smaller 4,000 predator generator on the back porch for my two deep freezers and spare refrigerator. It struggled to run all three of them without tripping the breaker. I’m thinking of upgrading that switch to around 20 amps to help it generate more electricity.

Oil comes from the propane hose! You must use approved hose to tank, cheep hose is oil infused to make it flexible, not good!

I have the xp13000HX which is duel fuel. It will not start on propane; but runs well on gasoline. Do you have any suggestions what may be up?

Poor packaging is not always the merchants fault, but many times the shippers. They tend to rough handle packages at times. Anyhow good presentation :o)

I added a watt meter to show how many watts I'm using and what I have left to use. It also has an alarm you can set to let you know when you are getting close to the running watts. Later
