Sounds same as mine..crankshaft whine. They recalled them for it when new.

You record the sound of any engine, and the cameras, or phones make it sound like they are ready to blow up. Although, I believe with the demand for more power, with the constraints of keeping things as light as possible, has diminished the durability factor of Honda engines on the whole. You just have to disassemble one to see how fragile they are these days.

Dont ever buy super bike in first series..i read on USA forums when 2008 cbr was out lots of problems.in the whole world 2008 cbr 1000rr is a garbage bike.lots of problems with clutch oil oil burning and much more ...i have 2009 cbr 1000rr repsol abs.model.no problems from 09 and above.hello from Croatia Europe.

I have this little noise, I change the cam chain tensioner but while the tank was off it sounded like the waterpump next to the starter.

How does it run now? So you still drive it? How many miles? Mine sounds the same and I’m worried……

on my cbr 1000rr (2005) its the same noise

That's a crank issue. Honda had a recall for them around 09
