"You know those 5000 ships the enemy Doesn't Have? Well, they're here!"

My great grandpa landed on Utah Beach, I just recently visited there and wrote his name on a wall of veteran names. He died in 2002.

I know he got beaten in North Africa, but disagreeing with Rommel about tanks in 1944 is like disagreeing with Tiger Woods about golf in 2001.

Its sad you have to make a disclaimer to speak history.

I wish there was more German documentaries on ww2. 2 sides to a coin. This is history and not glorification.

The Canadians probably captured their objectives so quickly because they politely asked.

I've read both volumes of "D Day Through German Eyes" and would recommend them.

PTSD must of been rife, absolutely no help. I read once that ww1 and ww2 can be directly linked to the spike in serial killers in the 50s, up to the 80s. The book stated that it believed that many service men came back with PTSD and often the children would be on the recieving end of it, behind closed doors.

My grandpa was a German fighting on DDAY. My family tried to talk to him but he was full of regret and guilt possibly of fighting on a losing side. He'll always be my hero though. Our family keeps his uniform locked away in a special box when he passed away. Love you Grandpa H

I will be teaching you how to make a pie for a cooking show, but before I do I have to tell you that I am not a pie, nor do I sympathise with pies or other baked goods.
