Hi, I'm Rory, a commercial helicopter pilot and fixed wing microlight pilot. This channel is all about sharing the joys of flying, learning new skills and striving to become a better aviator.

In 2019 I took a leap of faith in my dream of becoming a professional helicopter pilot. I quit my job at the BBC and enrolled on a full time integrated commercial helicopter pilot training course in Leicestershire where I learned to fly a Guimbal Cabri G2. I passed the skill test on 18 January 2021 so I now hold a CPL(H) and a fATPL (H) IR. In May 2022 I landed a job with Bristow Helicopters in Aberdeen flying the S92 to oil & gas rigs in the North Sea.

I'm also an award winning radio presenter, multimedia producer, podcasting coach & producer and former BBC studio director.
