Ramsay isn’t wrong when he says “that meat is so raw it’s still moving”

Imagine being a child and seeing something like this without any warning.

This phenomenon is known as "cadaveric spasm" or sometimes "postmortem muscle contraction." Although the animal is dead, nerve cells can still be active for a short time after death. This can lead to muscle fibers receiving signals and causing twitching or spasms. Sometimes, after death, muscles can still exhibit some form of contraction due to residual energy in the cells and the buildup of certain chemicals like calcium ions that trigger muscle contraction. There are some more reasons why this happens but those are the main two reasons why.

I really don’t like watching dead meat move, but I also can’t stop watching dead meat move. It’s like horrifying but also fascinating.

This basically works like how people imagine zombies do. In fact, this literally is what a zombie is. The actual animal is dead, but only the nerves in the muscles are still awake.

It is a huge relief to know that this behaviour is normal. It frickin terrified me when the children in my basement suddenly started moving.

Fun fact: This happens when the dead animal's Peripheral Nervous System is still working, so it cause to it's muscles to move, it took a hour to the Peripheral Nervous System stop working and the animal fully dies

The way it moves like it's still alive is terrifying
