I despise artists that don't respect their canvases. I almost passed out getting my first big tattoo. It was my body reacting to hours of intense pain, even though my mind was strong, I couldn't control how my body reacted. My artist was so so so kind and understanding, a literal angel. We had planned on finishing the tattoo in 2 sessions, but it's watercolor and ended up taking 3 sessions (12h total). I wouldn't have been able to make it through without the artist's compassion.

I'm so glad this challenge seemed to have never been brought back. How many people did this idea pass through who all said it was ethical.

I feel so bad for her. She has the memory of that horrible experience tattooed on her for the rest of her life and it isn’t even the correct animal.

This is more of a challenge for the canvas than the artists.

I hate when the tattoo artist is upset at the canvas for feeling pain. LIKE JUDGING THEM ISN’T GOING TO HELP

Holy hells, that poor girl. I love animal print myself and toy with the idea of having an animal print tattoo but watching this has been a bit of an eye opener. (I know she had different people working on her at the same time but wow...) feeling sick

People don't realize that tattoos yes, in the start, don't really hurt but as it gets red and raw and swollen it becomes unbearably painful and you can't tattoo over a swelled area anyway or it will fuck up the tattoo when the swelling goes down. You can't keep going over the same spot either. Most of these guys are very heavy-handed which doesn't help. When doing large pieces especially you need to be light/soft-handed and you have to learn to do things right the first time and in the right order so you don't keep going over already irritated skin. That can cause the ink to not take as well and cause bleed-out.

The artists tattooing the cheetah print didn’t bother doing their homework because they tattooed a leopard print as the fur had rosettes and cheetahs are plain smaller solid black circles. Jaguars also have rosettes but with black circles in the rosettes. I can understand maybe getting a leopard and jaguar print confused but not a cheetah that looks completely different. Even the face. Cheetahs have the black “tears” streaming down on each side of the eyes to the mouth.
