When I encountered Gades for the first time back in the day, it took like 10 minutes for me to make the first input because I was blown away by the awesome battle theme. To this day, the Sinistral battle theme remains the best battle music of all time in my opinion.

this battle can be done at lower levels than that :p Your setup is just a tad bit off of what I would consider optimal, but it's pretty close. This battle is a freakin war of attrition.
