Description
The Omninet Memetic Deterrence Initiative (OMDI), passed into law around 3002u. Without comment, SecComm established and funded the creation of a private research and development organization meant to tackle the growing threat of unregulated hazardous data being rapidly dispersed across the Omninet. These hazards were being spread primarily by what would later be understood by historians to be the predecessors to modern HORUS.
When SecComm collapsed, the Council of OMDI consisted of Andrew Bush and his Anthrochauvunist refugees from the founding of ThirdComm. His sly political maneuvering as leader of OMDI made him a then invaluable asset to Union in the maintenance of the still growing Omninet while Union pushed for UOB, OMDI’s intended replacement.
In 4600u, ThirdComm officially disbanded OMDI publicly, and replaced them with UOB.
