As smooth a startup as I ever heard.

I was not expecting how quiet and smooth that start up actually was.

Wow much quieter 4 stroke than the GE units!

I really hope EMD can figure out the technical kinks and get more sellers for this locomotive. It really does deserve more. Plus EMD’s aren’t as notorious for spitting out fire and smoke as GE locomotives

we had several of these at our rail yard in Fife, WA - Progress Rail (Caterpillar Co) who bought EMD, were sending these out to be tested and with feedback from the customers we did the electrical upgrades required, they were fun to play with - that engine/generator when started was a new experience for me, it would shake the whole locomotive when it was adjusting the crank.

EMD is the new Alco lmao. The 256J was their 244 and the 1010J is their 251

The cab looks kinda like a gevo from the side.

That's quieter than my gasoline engine.

I wish the new T4s had K5LLA horns
