0:43 I like the detail here. Like any smaller animal, the male M.U.T.O spreads it's wings, makes assertive vocalizations and stomps in an attempt to appear larger and somewhat intimidate a larger predator. In reality, the poor creature is likely scared shitless to see Godzilla, but knows that his only chance is to stand his ground.

I heard the director INENTIONALLY cut away from that scene just to troll/make fun of Godzilla fans, he even said so in the film's commentary in the special edition, but he promised not to do that ever again for the sequels.

Absolutely adore how it was like Godzilla was stalking the Muto and nobody knew he was there until he announced his presence with that thundering stomp, you could tell he wanted to be heard right then and there as that silencing footstep was aimed more towards the ground in a stomping motion than in front of him to move.
