Welcome to Windy City Elevators! This is the channel where I make elevator videos, mainly around the city of Chicago. Sometimes, I make videos of trains, flights, and other cool stuff as well.
Please feel free to watch my videos and leave any comments containing more details of the elevators (fixtures, chimes, etc.), corrections, or your viewpoints in my videos since I may not be familiar with all the elevator specs. In modern systems, the main control box will tell where the zone is that's sending the alarm so we know where the possible fire is. Most of the time when the alarm comes on, we go to the main panel and it just displays a trouble code. Then, we silence and reset the system. Usually, it's a defective sensor. But, the system is designed to alert us of a problem. To protect lives, and property! ️️

Last Friday, December 6. I stayed on a hotel and the fire alarms went off. I checked out today. There was a concert in the hotel on Friday night and apparently, someone pulled the alarm.

What kind of fire alarms are those? Glad I asked, those are EST Genesis Speaker Strobes with only a horn sound and no voice. That's a fail.
