Yeah you know your plot to save your company by physically extracting screams from human children is inhumane and cruel when even literal monsters find it monstrous. It goes without saying that some of the monsters in monsters inc have issues but at least most of them have hearts and at the very least know when they’re going too far. They realized scaring the kids was bad and that laughter was better while also more effective, but even before that all the rational monsters including the agents at the CDA know that kidnapping children for their screams is over the line since not only do they know that human children and humans in general don’t deserve any harm, but it would probably lead to the humans becoming completely aware of monster kind and waging war on them.

I wonder if there were any monsters who approved of Waternoose's plan to extract the screams of human children. After all, virtually all the monsters were raised into thinking that all humans and everything they own are toxic, and that a single touch from a child can kill a monster. If they still believe those lies, I honestly wouldn't be surprised that there are monsters that would want to see all humans perish, or be used as living batteries for their scream canisters.
