As I'm writing this, I cant help but ponder upon the thought of the artist who've put this together. La Madre Filipina, the Filipino Mother. Just like everyone, I also have a mother. But what makes me be distraught today is the portrayal of the Filipino mother in this work of art, because just like mine - she has remained steadfast, supportive and overflowing of understanding and love. I may have pushed my entire family out of my life, my mom remained where she needed to be - a mother. Standing as a beaming light, ever patient in writing to me on facebook to say hi, even though I have not responded. My heart is broken you see. But I dont want to let her see me in pain. Thanks for the illustration of this touching monuments, they indeed represent a mother, our mother, my mother....

The original bridge was so freaking beautiful. So sad that it's gone. The foot of that bridge got so many fantastic details. The new Jones bridge is ok but doesn't have that elaborate architectural design like the original one
