My GOAL is to entertain you. If you learn something, bonus!
Mark and Mike Rails started many years ago, in an age before YouTube and social media. He and I would spend Friday nights building our U shaped HO scale layout that took over most of our parents' basement. It was DC, with a working turntable, numerous electric switches, lighted buildings and a sweet cemetery scene. Running trains with my brother was a ton of fun and it's the only time we didn't fight.
Mike joined a band, Jimmy quit and Jody got married. Skip ahead 20 years and I resurrected part of the layout in early 2016 thanks to my loving wife. You can find videos about my 4x8 DC layout in the playlists. How-to videos on building, wiring, turntabling and lighting a DC layout.
Now, my wife and I live in a small apartment and I have a DCC layout with 2 loops and a small yard. Come along with me as I journey into this new and fun system of model trains. This hobby is living proof that you can have your cake and eat it too.

Great jog on the tunnel and access hatch but I have a question. How the hell did you get the invisible paint off of the mountain? They don’t make an invisible paint remover and it was obvious that everyone else knew they didn’t make it because everyone I asked made it really CLEAR that they don’t have it and then they wouldn’t help me anymore. Crazy!

On the risers why not just use masking tape? It’s smoother, cheaper , and you will be covering it anyways? I see everyone doing it the way you did . I am almost at the stage where I will be doing this . I thouht the tape seals it and gluing the track would add the rigidity.

What if you made it so part of the mountain could come off and the top of the tunnel could come off?
