A Life With Macaws
Description

Macaws are prey animals and will demand to sit on your arm, lap, or shoulder throughout the day and require feather preening, to hold their beak without fear, and duplicate the attention their mate does in the wild-your Macaw will expect you to read their body language so you will know what your Macaw needs at all time-Cages should be used for sleeping only, in a dark and quiet room, preferably a basement-Macaws will scream when they are hungry, thirsty, or needing your attention-Macaws require frequent cleaning of your home each day-Macaws require a healthy high-fat diet consisting of raw and unsalted nuts, a mixture of fresh fruits like apple, banana, grapes, and fresh vegetables like zucchini, yellow squash, and carrot

The best Macaw caretaker might be single, without children, cats, or a dog with bird drive, a person that works from home, and only leaves home for vacation when the Macaws go with them. Developing trust can create a lifetime companion that defies belief.
