Good list. And the first one with Guy Ritchie and Mel Brooks! (Although I prefer Snatch and many other than Young Frankenstein)

A few off-beat movies on my top list: Groundhog Day, Anything Else (Woody), Twelve Chairs (Mel), Breaking The Waves, Scrooge (Sim).

Pretty good list, not close to my top 50 but still a good list. Glad you made room for some comedy which often gets left off these lists. Little too heavy into Japanese cinema but even these have their merits.

Once upon a time in the west and The Shawshank Redemption are my favourites!

Fantastic choices there that I heartily agree with. I also watched part 2 and loved those choices also. I feel we have very similar taste in films. Just wondering if you have seen any movies by Shane Meadows(Dead Man's Shoes, This is England)? Fantastic sruff. If you haven't seen My Life as Dog, Lovers of the Arctic Circle or Children of Men, give them a go, well worth it. :)
