I think the Guitar Guy(AKA Kyle Justin)'s attack is a throwback to the Wave Beam from Metroid in every way.

The guitar guy's ability reminds me of the original Metroid's wave beam ability...although it sucks that you can't shoot up. (projectiles that go through walls, at least, comes in very handy nonetheless.)

I believe it may. They expressed they were trying to bring it to console. But, I think the guy said it could easily be on PS3 before Xbox. Oh, and they were supposed to bring it to Wii U easily as well. But, not sure where it's going yet.
