I actually watched the whole first series and quite enjoyed it (for what it was). It is quite easy to enjoy something while still seeing the problems and flaws in it. It's the wonder of having independent, free thinking brains and not having to accept everything shovelled at us.

Well she is vital to the story as the plan maker, the other girls tend to be more 'gung-ho' racing into action but they follow her plans sucessfully.

I assume you're referring to Shokatsu Koumei, and you do make a valid point. However she was in the first series and her role was that of a tactician and strategist instead of as a warrior. So her lack of ass-kicking makes sense if you've seen the first series :)

Just started watching. Already finished the original + Shin; now moving into Otome Tairan.

Actually Ryubi comes from the second game, which has both her and the male main character center stage.
