I keep looking for a game that can match Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II for sheer playability and fun. I've yet to see something that tickles my fancy. Thanks for putting this list together though.

For me a good RTS includes Base Building like command and conquer series and the very underrated Battle Realms

Thanks for this. It was really nice to see some RTS back to the spotlight. A mention from me would be Tzar: Burden of the Crown by Haemimont which was introduced in the early 2000s! And my love for RTS grew from there and on to C&C series. You definitely have to check out Tzar (< $5 on STEAM) and honestly speaking, it has one of the simplest mechanic and is still pretty fun to this date.

Quite sad to see that Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars/Kanes Wrath aren't on the list. Probably one of my top games.
