THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! - I COULD NOT figure this out by myself, and now IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY!!!!! - I'm a brand new ham operator - just got my license last Wednesday, just got my first (and only) ham radio last Tuesday - the Baofeng UV-5R, and I was ready to throw it down the toilet! - You just saved my radio from a watery grave...AND TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! - So THANK YOU for a wonderful Birthday present!  Joe from Chicago.

I had no idea that RX and TX could be set up this way. I used offset. I like this method much better. I did not realize that the first save to memory was for RX and that another save would set TX. Thank you so much for the information.

Thank you for the easy to understand how to program repeater offset channels. I had almost given up thinking it couldn't be done.

This makes so much more sense than the other method.  Now I finally get the difference between when the menu voice is saying "receiving memory" and "transmitting memory"! Duh!  I was overthinking the whole thing.  Thanks. 73

Thanks for this vid! I have watched sooo many other that can not explain this so simple and easy to understand. I can finally store manually  my repeaters in my memory mode correctly!

Thanks HandyRadio, I hit two Repeaters, one at 15 Kms, and the other 50 Kms away from my town. Good Video! Keep it up!

Just ordered a BaoFeng radio, should be here tomorrow or so, will be using this method of hand-programming, thanks! Mine showed up today, sans a programming cable,

Many people say to use Chirp to program your UV-5R. I could get the repeaters in but couldn't get them to work. Had to go back and manually reprogram my repeaters. Now the frequency changes when I press the ptt button! :)

Best tutorial on the subject. Thanks.

Thank you for simplifying the process, it worked for me after reading the manual and attempting multiple times.
