let's see: Scar eaten by hyenas, soul went to Underworld, made a deal with Hades to fight Hercules in return to be King of Pride Rock, but killed then skinned by Hercules.

The scene when Phil gets paint on his face is one of my favorite parts. It's fun to watch.

I saw some folks asking why Scar is in the movie in this scene. It's not just an Easter egg left by the animators. Scar's pelt is actually from the lion Hercules defeated as one of his tasks (seen in the "Zero to Hero" scene). He just doesn't look quite the same during the song, probably because it was such a short moment. They put more focus on making it look like Scar in this scene because the audience gets to enjoy the visuals longer.
