Description

The mission of the Department of Homeless Services is to prevent homelessness and provide temporary, emergency shelter for individuals and families with no alternative housing option available. Homeless Services employs a variety of innovative strategies to assist individuals and families in regaining self-sufficiency as quickly as possible so that they may independently return to their communities. These goals are best achieved through partnerships with those we serve-- public agencies and the business and nonprofit communities. By working in partnerships, Homeless Services can best assist New Yorkers in need.
