I firmly think that this was never supposed to be a Madam Web movie, and Sony just threw the Madam Web name on it to keep their rights to the Spider-Man franchise.

When I was watching this, the bad aftertaste I got was "Wait uncle Ben was in it but they didn't even mention Peter's name" and instead ending the movie with a shampoo commercial song with the 3 spider girls with her as the mentor. U don't create a spin-off of an iconic franchise by completely ignoring the principal character

Madame Web was obviously going to suck, but Sony actually did us a favor by making it as terrible as they did, because it's so bad it's indefensible. No one can play the usual "you just don't like it because it has female leads" game and they were forced to judge the movie on its merits just like the rest of us do. And the next time someone tries to play the gender card to defend a bad woke movie, we can reply, "What about Madame Web? That movie had female leads and no one liked it."
