my name is Jim Castner m/3/1 I knew one of Jimmie s team leaders named JoHn T. Adams l/Cpl, he was my karate instructor on Okinawa in 1965, He received the Navy Cross on hill 488. God bless his soul.

I served with a corpsman who was on the patrol with Gunny Howard. CW2 Billie Holmes was a gun pilot with D Trp 1/1 Cav, 196th Infantry Brigade at Marble Mountain AAF in Da Nang RVN during the Easter offensive 1972.

My uncle lcpl Alcadio Mascarenas died in the battle on hil 488 where howard earned his medal . My family spoke to Ricardo Binns and he was never happy of howards decision not to pull theme off the hill beforehand
