It's Christmas Eve and what better way to enjoy it than to gather the family around and watch Salo. Great work as always Daisuke!

Such a difficult watch, one of the few films that I can’t rate, all I know is that it’s important and unforgettable. Obviously sad that it is Pasolini’s final statement. After the bawdy celebration of life and the body in his trilogy of Canterbury tales, Arabian nights and the Decameron this is a total death of life as Pasolini shows us how humanity will always choose the lowest cruelest road to take if power is absolute with no consequences. I don’t watch it often obviously but it is unforgettable. Great review sir.

Pasolini said this movie is about the power of his day, namely consumerism, and he compared the scatalogical elements to contemporary fast-food, etc. This movie is such a beautiful provocation, like he was so angry at the world and injustice and the way his films had become items for consumption just like everything else... he decided to make this movie as a middle finger to the audience and to the elite. But he just couldn’t help himself from still making something very beautiful and very stylized. Thanks for your in-depth comments Daisuke!

This is one of my favourite films of all time it pushed limits tooks very dark and grotesce subjects and turned in a very dark but beautiful art with is very true but it had a very big impact on me for seeing those intense subject matters in film, stay well and stay safe my friend

I have a very difficult time going back and forth on whether or not I should watch this. I know it's going to disturb me deeply, but as much as hype as surrounds it, and when greats like Martin Scorsese regard it as definitive art, I feel like I have to watch it.

The most disturbing, shocking, disgusting film I’ve ever seen in my life
