The Monkey Sentinel

Description

I am a professor and former research assistant for a conservation center. I am not a professional primatologist and do not present myself that way. I'm simply someone who 1) knows how to do research 2) has worked in the conservation of nonhuman primates and 3) specializes in understanding social media and visual culture.

My purpose is to share the various ways in which nonhuman primates are exploited on social media platforms and face conservation threats globally. I delete all comments that spread misinformation, deny climate change science (or, really, science in general) or promote hate/toxicity. If that is not to your taste, please move on.

Topics also routinely include discussion of political matters such as climate change policy or whatever I find interesting. Check the Community page for daily updates and chatter
