Sounds to me like a fuel starvation issue. I own one of these cars myself and mine has 405,445km and runs sweet as. I would be checking the MAF and fuel filter and pump itself. These cars are bulletproof and yours is very strange. Mine hits the rev limiter no troubles.

Check vacuum hose for vacuum leak, when was your fuel filter replaced? Or pvc valve replaced? Try to replace them for their are only cheap and pray that it’s not something more expensive.
