The OverWorked Gardener
Description
Relaxing after long days of work in the garden. Well hopefully. Trying to keep the goats out of the garden. Trying to keep my kids from eating plants they shouldn't eat. I live in north Texas on 5 acres in zone 8a. Always trying new ways to grow food and trying to as cheaply as I can.
Trying to learn as much as I can by trying it out and shearing what works and what didn't so you don't have to do it for yourself.
I may eat ghost peppers or Carolina reaper or something else spicy. Never know what's going to happen. Stay tuned.

Interesting. Seems like too dry would be the issue. But heck, I guess you'll figure it out. Cool experiment!!

I had a problem with mine getting too dry so I cut up a bin bag, put some holes in it, and used it to line the pockets.

I found the Amazon link. It's way cheaper on ebay.

Do you have an update on how well this worked? I’m curious to know if the pockets tear if the soil/plants get too heavy as well as whether the wood behind it gets mouldy. What would be a suggestion to prevent mould?

I'm looking at exactly the same one on amazon and thinking about trying it out for the purpose of vertical gardening and filling the whole backyard fence with vegies and fruit.... do you think a drip system would work for this especially for texas weather?.... I'm also from texas and that summer time heat can be really harsh and we've been planting for about 7 yrs and the drip system comes in handy with a timer

I received a 6 pocket felt planter, the bottom of the pouch only have half of a bottom so you can’t fill it with dirt and I can’t find the right size pot that won’t fall through. Do you have any suggestions?

I'd have chosen a lighter color that doesnt get as hot in direct sun ... say, tan.

So COOL!! What's the name of the fabric? Is it geotextile or is it some other name?
