I once spoke with the son of the 'surviving' nephew Sanford Clark. The movie had come out recently, as did Jerry Clark's book "Road Out Of Hell". The conversation with Jerry Clark was quite moving and when describing his father, Sanford and the effects it had on him was enough to move me to tears. The story of Gordon Northcott and the 'Wineville Chicken Coop Murders' is one of the strangest, corrupt and degrading ever. Chilling in every aspect.

I just finished reading The Road Out of Hell and it was such an amazing story. Very disturbing though. I almost had to stop reading it because it upset me so much but I found Sanford so inspiring.

after watching the movie and then researching about this story, i am still left speechless. this was truly a sad story with three different storylines (northcott, the boy stating to be walter, and mrs. collins' ordeal), that was all connected!!

I'm not a native English speaker, but i still understand some of what you're explaining; i saw the movie yesterday, and i couldn't believe such a story. I will read your book !

one of the things was that they didn't introduce the mother, who helped in the murders, she was even put on trial as well... But other than that, I don't really see any other differences, which is scary.

man so all we found were documents and pictures? I have heard that she never stopped talking about bad cops in the radio so weren't there like recordings of her or more pictures? did she ever find her son? i can't find much info about her

Very sad and what kind of mother does what this mother did!  So glad he got what was coming to him!

Walter escaped the coop, but nobody's ever found out if he was recaptured along with the other boy while making a run for it. One child got away, but he never found out if Northcott got back the other kids in the process.
