Learn something new every day! I always thought that truck brakes were spring loaded to the "on" position, and you had to have air pressure to get them to release. That was why they had a place to manually release them with a socket wrench through the spring cover.

in a semi truck the absence of air engages the breaks. if you run out of air pressure in a semi truck it will not move.
