Thanks to Jackie coming first, we fans got to know the quiet grace of Hank Aaron, the pure joy of Willie Mays and Ernie Banks, the straightforward fierceness of Bob Gibson and the youthful energy of Ken Griffey Jr.

And all of the music also gives me wrestling vibes as well

The next all century team. Add the designated hitter category and Big Papi David Ortiz should be #1 in that category.

1996 World Series Yankees were down 2-0 and came back to win the World Series against the Braves.

I found the full roster and, as a Cardinals fan, am almost embarrassed that at least 11 of the 100 were members of my team!

It’s tough to make an all time team but I think this list is pretty damn solid overall. I do think Clemente belongs here somewhere as does Frank Robinson. But I don’t think it’s fair to take people off either. The steroid guys might get the boot perhaps.

Rickey should be on this team.

Tom Seaver is an obvious omission. He’s ahead of at least Bob Gibson and Nolan Ryan. Seaver and Walter Johnson have 300 wins, 3,000 strikeouts, and an earned run average under 3.00 - the only pitchers to do so.

This was an excellent celebration of the game. Might have been the hardest thing in the history of sports writing to pick a dang all century team. Its easy to nitpick but they needed to include a "utility man" spot. Pete Rose shoulda been the utility man. Rose played 500 games at 5 different spots. Frank Robinson shoulda been on the team.
